Counselling / Psychology / Mental Health

Village wisdom aim to address the mental health and wellbeing needs of individuals using evidence based, local and indigenous knowledge. Village wisdom takes a collaborative approach in collective knowledge and lived experiences of individuals we served.

I am a registered clinical Counsellor (#19375) with the BC Association of clinical Counsellors and hold a Master of Counselling from Athabasca University.

As a therapist, I believe life is about creating meaning; meaning is subjective and ever-changing. To live a meaningful life, we must find and focus on what is meaningful in every moment. We can find meaning through work, through love, through suffering. With a keen listening ear, I aim to reintroduce clients to wisdom and opportunities to be heroes in their life. After all, we are the stories we tell ourselves. It takes courage, perseverance, humor, and kindness to take a lead role in our life. I mirror these virtues in my work to create space that is needed for clients to do their life’s work.

I have had the privilege to support individuals with anxiety, depression, adjustment disorders, and Grief and loss. Clients working with me have found meaning and purpose in their life. It is my passion to understand clients’ stories, the narratives they create; the meaning we generate from our experience. Through narrative dialogue, I have helped clients create a new perspective and a better sense of well-being.
